Let's celebrate 2021

Let's celebrate 2021

I love the festive season. Firstly, because it means all our little businesses start slowing down and we get a true break. But, also because this is the time of year when I start reflecting on my blessings, both professional and personal. And there are many. There is no doubt that 2021 has been hard. But I am so proud of what have we achieved at Appy Books this year. Below are just a couple of our highlights:-

  • We managed a smooth rebrand and created a new website that is already providing us with extra customers requiring assistance
  • Grew our customer base by 20%
  • Have expanded our bookkeeping offerings to 2 new industries
  • Helped 8 of our small business clients apply for Queensland Government grants which kept them afloat during the latest lockdowns
  • Moved office twice
  • Completed more than 80 hours of professional development in legislative changes and new software apps to provide even better services to our clients
  • Attended more than 40 networking meetings to both promote Appy Books and learn from new clients and peers
  • Wrote a business blog for the website every week of the year. To me, this was no small achievement. Some weeks it was really hard to find the time and the inspiration but it was a goal I set for myself in December last year
  • Had a cow named after me by a very delighted client. I have to admit, this is my favourite thing to happen this year

And all this while still providing great service and insight to our clients. Gotta love that! I hope this short list inspires you all to spend a quick moment thinking about all your little wins for the year. Harnessing that positivity in these difficult times can really make a difference to both your business and your mood. Give yourself a pat on the back for what you have achieved this year because I bet it’s been terrific.

We are closing next Tuesday (22/12/21) for 10 days so this will be my last blog of the year. I wish all readers a happy and healthy festive season and here’s to 2022 being an even more epic year.

Stay ‘Appy!
