Always had a hankering to be a movie star?

Always had a hankering to be a movie star?

I am always looking for new ways to deliver messages to clients and prospective clients. Something snappy that stands out from the crowd. I had been hearing about Loom for a while but had never tried it, so I decided this week was the week to take it for a test drive.

First things first, what is Loom? Loom is a screen and video recording tool that allows you to record your screen, camera, and microphone simultaneously. It's a fantastic way for me to create quick and easy tutorials for clients, explainer videos about Appy Books and Appy Dash, and any client presentations.

So, what are the steps for creating your very own Loom video.

Step 1: Choose your topic - The first step in creating a Loom video is choosing your topic. What do you want to share with your audience? What kind of content will be useful and valuable to them? Once you've decided on your topic, it's time to move on to step two.

Step 2: Plan your content - Now that you've chosen your topic, it's time to plan out your content. You can create a script, an outline, or even just jot down some bullet points. The key is to have a clear idea of what you want to cover in your video. This will make the recording process much smoother.

Step 3: Set up your recording - Before you start recording, you need to make sure your equipment is set up correctly. This includes your microphone, camera, and any other tools you might need. Once everything is in place, it's time to hit the record button!

Step 4: Record your video - This is the fun part! Start recording your video using Loom. Make sure to follow your plan and stick to your topic. You can pause and resume recording as many times as you need to, so don't worry if you make a mistake or need to take a break. My first attempt had about 25 retakes but I got there in the end. The trick is to relax.

Step 5: Edit your video - Once you're done recording, it's time to edit your video. Loom has a built-in editor that allows you to trim your footage, add captions, and even blur out sensitive information. Take the time to make your video look and sound great!

Step 6: Share your video - Finally, it's time to share your video with the world! You can upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo, or any other video sharing platform. You can also share it directly with your audience via email, social media, or your website.

Creating Loom videos is a fantastic way to share your knowledge and expertise with your audience. Whether you're creating tutorials, demos, or presentations, Loom makes it easy to create high-quality video content.

Go ahead and give it a crack! You'll be amazed at how quickly you can create engaging and informative videos. And you might just be discovered and go on to Hollywood to star in "The Accountant Part 2 - It's accrual world"!
